The International Federation Forum 2022 organised by SportAccord brings together Olympic and International Sports Federations to explore key issues and proposed future solutions. 

This year’s event focused around two key areas, Safe Sport and Sustainability. ICCE Vice-President Professor Sergio Lara-Bercial represented coaches in a Safe Sport panel led by IOC Senior Manager for the Safe Sport Unit Gloria Viseras. 

The panel also included Julie Gabriel (President, International Savate Federation), Áine Power ( Deputy Legal Director, International Equestrian Federation), Georgina Usher (CEO, British Fencing), Kady Kanouté Tounkara OLY (IOC Athletes’ Entourage Commission ANOCA Athletes’ Commission) and Havard B. Ovregard (Safe Sport Advisor, Norwegian Olympic & Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports)

Professor Lara-Bercial was delighted having taken part in the event:

“The 2022 IF Forum put a marker on the sand for international sport organisations. It really brought to the fore the importance of Safe Sport at all levels of participation, and importantly, the role of coaches in protecting and safeguarding all athletes and participants. This has been a long-standing priority for ICCE and we are ready to contribute to this extremely important agenda”
