Sport Coaching Europe (SCE) has joined forces with multiple European partners for a new Erasmus+ project called “A Fairer Coaching” (AFC). The project aims to help coaches create a more positive and supportive environment for athletes. Partners met this week in Sofia at the offices of the Bulgarian Football Union.
SCE and the AFC partners met in the Bulgarian capital to discuss how they can work together to achieve this goal. The project plan entails workshops, training sessions, and online resources to help coaches learn how to focus more on their athletes’ needs.
Maltese football coaches, Renzo Kerr Cumbo and Manuela Tesse (Maltese Women’s National Team Manager) also joined the event to test the project’s e-learning platform. They were impressed with the platform’s potential to provide coaches with flexible and accessible training opportunities.
“We believe that every athlete deserves a fair and supportive coach,” said Sergio Lara-Bercial who represented SCE in Sofia. “This project is all about helping coaches develop the skills they need to create a positive and inclusive environment.”
AFC is a big step forward for safer sport. All partners are excited to work together to make a real difference in the lives of athletes across Europe and beyond.
