ICCE President Lorraine Lafrenière represented ICCE at the 2026 ASPC American Continental Forum in Guatemala, sharing insights on advancing women in coaching and strengthening international collaboration. The event also opened opportunities for future partnerships to support coaching development and excellence worldwide.
ICCE President Lorraine Lafrenière represented the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) at the ASPC American Continental Forum, held in Guatemala City on 7–8 October 2026. The event brought together more than 200 delegates from over 20 countries to exchange knowledge and explore developments across the international sport sector.
During the forum, Lafrenière delivered a presentation titled “Breaking Barriers, Building Pathways: Women in Coaching,” alongside Mariana Vieira de Mello of the Brazilian Olympic Committee. The session explored the importance of transparent coaching pathways, mentorship, sponsorship, and meaningful development opportunities for women in coaching.
Discussions also highlighted the connections between gender equity, safe sport, and leadership accountability, emphasising the importance of organisational commitment and sustained action in creating lasting change.
The forum provided opportunities to strengthen international relationships and explore future collaboration. Discussions included potential partnerships connected to the ASPC International Forum in Belgrade in 2027 and the Global Coach Conference 2027, alongside opportunities to contribute to the International Working Group on Women and Sport’s 2030 conference in Brazil.
The event formed part of a wider series of ASPC continental forums held across Europe, Africa, and the Americas in 2026. These gatherings offer opportunities to strengthen regional connections while engaging with the wider international sport and coaching community.
ICCE welcomes opportunities to build international partnerships, exchange knowledge, and advance coaching excellence through collaboration, inclusion, and the continued development of coaches worldwide.
