The International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) is delighted to announce the establishment of Sport Coaching Europe (SCE), a formal continental body for Europe of its global organisation.
Sport Coaching Europe builds on decades of progress made by the European Coaching Council, which was formed to promote the mission and objectives of ICCE and the development of coaching across Europe by providing clear reference points for education, development, qualification, and employment of coaches. These reference points have been developed with and made available for European countries, European Sport federations, Higher Education, coaches associations and other agencies.
John Bales, President of the ICCE said of the announcement:
“It gives us great pleasure to launch Sport Coaching Europe – a formally established continental body for Europe of the ICCE – which will develop and evolve further the mission of the European Coaching Council. Many of the ICCE’s projects involve co-operating with European partners and the EU, and this work will be strengthened by our continental presence in Europe”.
Kirsi Hämäläinen, ICCE Vice President for Europe said:
“The launch of Sport Coaching Europe marks an important milestone in promoting the development of coaching across Europe and working collaboratively with partner organisations in the continent. As Vice President of the ICCE for Europe I wholly welcome this development”.
