Global Coaches House – London 2012

The ICCE, in partnership with Leeds Metropolitan University and Limkokwing University, commissioned an events programme entitled the Global Coaches House during the London Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012. The programme during both events comprised of informal and formal events designed to provide a hub for coaches to meet and debate current coaching theory and practice.

The GCH attracted high-profile organisations from the sports coaching world including the International Olympic Committee, International Federations, National Olympic Committees, UK Sport, Sport England, the World Anti-Doping Agency, National Governing Bodies of Sport and many more. During the two events, more than 500 coaches participated, including more than 50 interviews and presentations.

High-profile speakers at the event included Olympic star Jessica Ennis and her coaches Toni Minichiello and Mick Hill; Malcolm Brown, coach to Olympic triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee; and Sharon Hannan, coach of Sally Pearson, Australian Olympic champion.
