CoachEd6 meet in Malta in September to discuss designing Coach Education Units at Degree Level

The Transnational Project Meeting for Erasmus+ CoachEd6 was held on 6-8 September 2021 in Malta and was hosted by the project coordinator Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology (MCAST).

The meeting began with a visit to the existing and planned sports facilites at MCAST. This was followed by a short meeting with Deputy Principal Ing Dr Alex Rizzo informing all partners about sport-related Research and Innovation projects. After being welcomed by the director at the MCAST Institute of Community Services, the participants held three important meetings focusing on:

– The Online Learning Platforms planned for the Award in Sport Coaching.

– The plan of CoachEd6 untill the end of 2022.

– Quality Assurance processes training.

The Transnational Project Meeting in Malta came to an end on Wednesday morning with an interesting morning hosted by the Maltese Olympic Committee, associate partners of the project. The day started with a tour of the MOC’s offices, next door to the Institute for Physical Education and Sports (University of Malta), and a visit to the National Pool Complex.

Later a meeting commenced with representatives from the Malta Handball AssociationAquatic Sports Association of Malta and the Malta Table Tennis Association. Practices and challenges for coaching structures, coaching regulation and coaching education programmes were presented and discussed.

All international partners from the International Council for Coaching Excellence – ICCEHáskólinn í Reykjavík University, Syddansk Universitet – University of Southern Denmark and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman Üniversitesi joined the project leaders and hosts of this TPM at MCAST – Malta College of Arts, Science & Technology.
