Jon Grydeland

Jon Grydeland works as Senior Advisor for Coach Development for the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF). Grydeland leads a network of 55 sporting federations and their work with coach education and coach development across Norway.

He has extensive experience from elite sport, coach education and sport leadership, including previous roles as Sports Director and national team coach in the Norwegian Volleyball Federation. Grydeland has coached athletes for over 30 years, including 4 Olympics as coach for The Norwegian Beach volleyball national team.

Jon also has a master’s degree in Coaching from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. In addition to his professional work, he serves as a board member of the International Council for Coaching Excellence and has many years of practical experience as a youth and parent coach in volleyball and football. His background gives him a broad perspective on athlete development, coaching, leadership and sport systems.
