ICCE President strengthens global ties during strategic visit to China

ICCE President Lorraine Lafrenière led a strategic visit to China in December 2025, hosted by Beijing Sport University (BSU) in collaboration with the General Administration of Sport of China and the Chinese Olympic Committee.

The visit marked an important step in strengthening international collaboration in coach education, research, and sport system development. A key highlight was the launch of the BSU Coach Developer Academy, an initiative aligned with ICCE’s commitment to professionalising coach development through evidence-based practice and international standards.

During meetings with senior sport and university leaders, discussions focused on building coherent coaching systems, integrating applied sport science, and creating sustainable pathways from grassroots to high-performance sport. Opportunities for future collaboration were identified, including joint research, academic exchange, and international events.

The visit reinforced ICCE’s role as a trusted global partner and laid the foundation for continued collaboration with Chinese sport institutions.
