In a historic moment for Romanian sports, the unified National Association of Romanian Coaches was officially founded during a high-profile ceremony at the Romanian Parliament.

This milestone marks a significant step toward professionalizing the coaching sector in the country.

The event, which underscored the commitment of political and sporting authorities to national athletic development, was honored by the presence of several top Romanian leaders:
– Mr. Ciprian Constantin Paraschiv, President of the Sports and Youth Committee of the Chamber of Deputies.
– Mr. Virgiliu Ceorge Vlaescu, President of the Sports and Youth Committee of the Senate.
– Mr. Cosmen Tabara, President of the National Sports Agency of Romania.
– Presidents and representatives of major national sports federations.
– Coaches from different sports

The event was also honored by the President of the International Council for Coach Education (ICCE), Ms. Lorraine Lafrenière, who congratulated Romania on this historic step via a special video greeting.

The initiative was strongly supported by the ICCE, with strategic guidance provided by Mr. Athanasios Villiotis, ICCE’s Head of the Working Group for Coaches’ Associations. Mr. Villiotis played a crucial role, lending international expertise and structure to the foundational process.

The successful establishment of the Romanian National Association marks the culmination of an effective partnership between Mr. Villiotis and the local organizing committee. The new body will be led by Mr. Doru Dragomir (President) and Mr. Nucu Lilian Antohi (Vice-President).

This collaboration mirrors previous successful formations of unified coach associations in Cyprus and Malta. The unified body aims to advance coaches’ rights, promote professional excellence, and integrate the Romanian coaching community into the wider international sports network.
