The latest cohort (#9!) of the NCDA (Nippon Sport Science University/NSSU Coach Developer Academy) completed their program on February 21st, with an amazing group of Coach Developers from 14 countries having challenged themselves and their peers to grow their skills over two residential weeks in Tokyo with online work in between.
The program is a partnership between NSSU and ICCE with financial support from IOC/Olympic Solidarity.
Our appreciation is extended to Trainers Masa Ito, Shigeki Sarodo, Larissa Galatti and Pelle Kvalsund, to organizers Sharly Yazaki, Ayako Takano and Hiroki Katsumata, and to all the participants for their commitment to improving coaching in their contexts. In the Facebook post below Carolina Vera Vera from Suriname shares her thoughts on the impact of the program on her personal development (reprinted with permission).
From Facebook:
Thank you, Japan. Thank you, NCDA family,
Being part of this program has been more than a professional experience , it has been a life journey.
I feel deeply honored and truly grateful for the opportunity to learn, to share, and to grow alongside such inspiring people.
I leave with a full heart and a peaceful soul. The quality of learning, the openness of dialogue, the spirit of respect, and the powerful human connections we created will stay with me forever.
What we built together goes far beyond knowledge ,it is vision, shared values, and shared humanity.
This experience has strengthened my purpose. I return to my beautiful country carrying new wisdom, renewed energy, and a stronger responsibility to give back.
Step by step, I will continue contributing to the development of sport and coaching in meaningful ways.
Sport and coaching are not only professions ,they are transformative forces.
They teach us about life, resilience, connection, hope , unity and much more..
With sincere appreciation and lasting gratitude thank you.
