ICCE elects new President on 20th November 2025 at General Assembly in Athens


We are delighted to share that Lorraine Lafrenière has been elected as the new ICCE President for the 2025–2029 term during the ICCE General Assembly held in Athens.

Lorraine chairs the ICCE Ethics Committee and works around the globe in coaching systems, education and ethics. Lorraine is also the CEO of the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) and leads Canada’s Coaching Education Partnership with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) which is complemented by initiatives in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Safe Sport along with the profession of coaching. Her career spans more than 30 years within the national sport system which includes roles as CEO of Canoe Kayak Canada, Cycling Canada as well as leadership roles with the Canadian Olympic Committee and Canadian Paralympic Committee.

The ICCE community extends its heartfelt gratitude to John Bales for his outstanding leadership, vision, and dedication to advancing coaching excellence over the past 20 years. In accordance with the organisation’s Articles of Association, John will continue to support the ICCE Board as Past President for the next four years.

SPORT COACHING EUROPE

The SCE is a formally established continental body for Europe of the International Council for Coaching Excellence.
