
Lorraine Lafrenière is the President of the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) (2025), becoming the first woman to hold this role in the organization’s history. Having previously served two consecutive terms on the ICCE Board and as Chair of its Ethics Committee, she brings a values-based, globally respected perspective to advancing coaching as a profession. has decades of experience supporting the coaching systems globally.
Lorraine is the Chief Executive Officer of the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC), where she was also the first woman to serve in the role. She leads Canada’s national coaching education and development ecosystem through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). Her leadership emphasizes ethical practice, safe sport, equity, diversity and inclusion, and the ongoing professionalization of coaching. She is widely recognized for her ability to align partners across complex systems and drive meaningful, system-level impact.
With a career spanning more than 35 years in sport leadership, Lorraine has held senior executive roles including CEO of Canoe Kayak Canada and Cycling Canada, as well as leadership positions with the Canadian Olympic Committee and the Canadian Paralympic Committee. She has participated in more than a dozen Olympic and Paralympic Games in various leadership capacities, contributing to both athlete performance environments and system-wide advancement.
Lorraine is known for her collaborative, principled leadership style—grounded in integrity, inclusion, and a deep commitment to the development of people. She brings a global perspective to her work while remaining deeply connected to the communities and coaches she serves.
