The first weekend of the SCORE programme took place for mentors in Larnaca Cyprus on 30th-31st January 2016. 22 mentors attended from the UK, Germany, Finland, Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal, Lithunania and Sweden, with the objective of starting a mentoring process within the sport federations and to raise equality in the coaching workforce.
The day commenced with an address from the Chairwoman of Cyprus Sport Organisation, Clea Hadjustestephanou.
The training was facilitated by Satu Kaski, PhD Sport Psychologist (Finland) and it provided a great platform for the trainee mentors to share ideas across sports, countries and federations.
Attendance of the workshop has developed a great network of mentors across European countries, who have been provided the tools to work with talented female coaches, to promote the representation of female coaches and address gender equality in coach education.
