The ‘Celebrating Disability Sport and Physical Activity Conference’ will take place in Liverpool on 11-12 November 2021.
The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences and the Erasmus funded ParaCoach project is hosting the conference which will bring together an international network of delegates who share a common interest to work collaboratively with people with disability to ensure their full inclusion in sport and physical activity is realised.
The conference will celebrate the good work already taking place across the sport pathway, whilst challenging the boundaries of what is considered possible. The event will provide an opportunity to launch the Disability Sport and Physical Activity Network (DisSPA) and showcase some of the outputs from the ParaCoach project. The conference is open to coaches and sport practitioners, those in charge of education and development in sport and physical activity, sport administrators and developers, sport policymakers, academics, students and LJMU alumni.
Speakers include Penny Briscoe (OBE), Director of Sport, British Paralympic Association, Paula Dunn (MBE), Head Coach, British Athletics Paralympic Programme, Professor Brett Smith, Director of Research and Professor of Disability and Physical Activity, Durham University.
