Latest PEAK Project Transnational Meeting hosted in Helsinki, December 2019

Coaches bring tremendous value to individuals and communities.

In many jurisdictions, the standard of coach preparation does not match the importance or the demands of the role; women are underrepresented; there is insufficient data to properly manage coaching development; and support for coaches in their jobs is insufficient.

These were some of the findings of the research that was conducted by the German Sports University Cologne in the context of the ICSSPE managed PEAK project.

In the next phase of the project, partners, under the management of Coaching Ireland, will develop a good practice report and finally, under the leadership of the International Council of Coaching Excellence, a framework for coaching policies.

The latest transnational meeting of the PEAK project which is funded through the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission, took place in Helsinki on 4th and 5th December 2019 upon invitation by the Finnish Olympic Committee.
