ICCE signs Brighton Declaration

ICCE president John Bales signed the Brighton Declaration at the 6th IWG World Conference in Helsinki, Finland on June 12th.  The Brighton Declaration http://www.iwg-gti.org/@Bin/22427/Brighton+Declaration_EN.pdf  aims to develop a sporting culture that enables and values the full involvement of women in every aspect of sport. The IOC President Thomas Bach, the IPC President Sir Philip Craven, President Tarja Halonen and Commissioner Vassiliou were present ath the signatory. Also other two  international sports organizations signed the Brighton Declaration on Women and Sport in a press conference at the venue of the event: the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) and The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

During the IWG World Conference the ICCE organized three “winning woman”-sessions building the theme from evidence to research and examples of good practise and finally to Call to action.  News from these sessions can be read from Conference web-page:
