From 17th-21st November 2021, the city of Lisbon hosted the ICCE Global Coach Conference. The ICCE, Coaching Portugal and the University of Lisboa, succeeded in organising the biennial conference bringing together coaches, coach educators, researchers, sport scientists, technical directors and sport administrators to address issues in coaching, to learn about new coaching research, and to share experiences with the top coaching development experts in the world.
More than 700 participants attended the Global Coach Conference 2021, including both virtual and in-person participants. In that respect, the success of the Conference can be explained by the number of people that went presentially to Lisbon: almost 500 participants were at the venue in the University of Lisbon. Thus, about 200 people could follow the event from home along the week.
Furthermore, the quality of the keynotes is worth noting. Many big names conveyed their knowledge on several coaching-related topics. Nicole LaVoi, Bettina Callary, Masamitsu Ito, Julian North, Frank Ludolph, Penny Werthner, Jorge Braz, António Paulo Ferreira and Kristjan Port gave the participants a lot of insight from different perspectives within coaching.
